Cómo pedir y dar direcciones en inglés

La mayoría de nosotros se ha perdido alguna vez y se ha visto obligado a preguntar cómo llegar a cierto sitio. El problema está cuando nos perdemos en una ciudad en la que no se habla nuestro idioma y no tenemos muy claro cómo preguntar o no entendemos muy bien las indicaciones que nos dan. Las siguientes frases os ayudarán a salir de esta incómoda situación.

PREGUNTAR CÓMO LLEGAR A UN LUGAR

1. Excuse me, where is the museum? (perdone, ¿dónde está el museo?)
2. Excuse me, how can I get to the train station? (perdone, ¿cómo puedo llegar a la estación de tren?)
3. Excuse me, is there a supermarket nearby? (perdone, ¿hay algún supermercado cerca?)
4. Excuse me, where can I find a chemist's? (perdone, ¿dónde puedo encontrar una farmacia?)
5. Excuse me, is this the way to the car park? (perdone, ¿por aquí se va al parking?)

DAR INDICACIONES PARA LLEGAR A UN LUGAR

Go straight on / Go straight ahead (siga recto)
Go straight on until you get to the roundabout (siga recto hasta llegar a la rotonda)
Go past the library (pase la biblioteca)
Go along this street (siga / vaya por esta calle)
Go over the bridge (pase el puente)
Go up this street (suba por esta calle)
Go down this street (baje por esta calle)

Turn left / right (gire a la izquierda / derecha)

When you get to the end of the street, turn left / right (cuando llegue al final de la calle, gire a la izquierda / derecha)

Turn left / right at the traffic light (gire a la izquierda / derecha en el semáforo)

Take the first / second left / right on to Green Street (tome la primera / segunda a la izquierda / derecha hacia Green Street)

You will see a bookshop on the left / right (verá una librería a la izquierda / derecha)

You will see some stairs / There will be some stairs. Go down them (verá unas escaleras/ habrá unas escaleras. Bájelas)

Cross the road (cruce la calle)

It's on the left / right (está a la izquierda / a la derecha)
It's on the corner of Upper Street (está en la esquina de Upper Street)
It's next to the restaurant (está al lado del restaurante)
It's the building opposite the park (es el edificio que está enfrente del parque)
It's between the cark park and the shopping centre (está entre el parking y el centro comercial)

Ejemplo
A: Excuse me, how can I get to the museum?

B: Go straight on until you get to the traffic lights. At the traffic lights, turn right. You'll see a roundabout. At the roundabout take the first left on to Lower Street. You will see a Chinese restaurant. Go past the Chinese restaurant. It's the building next to the tourist information office, opposite the park.
